Soccer Recap: Fountain Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Fountain Valley had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged the Marina Vikings out 2-1 on Monday. Given the Barons' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Vikings are ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jaelene Felix and Katelyn Leach scored both of Fountain Valley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Fountain Valley's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 9-7-3. As for Marina, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12-1 record this season.

Fountain Valley has already played their next contest (against Corona del Mar), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marina does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
