Basketball Game Preview: James Lick Comets vs. Independence 76ers

James Lick is 1-8 against Independence since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the James Lick Comets will get right back to it and host the Independence 76ers at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

James Lick came up short against Lincoln on Wednesday, falling 47-25.

Meanwhile, Independence was beaten by Piedmont Hills 64-18 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the 76ers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost five in a row.

James Lick's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

James Lick was taken down by Independence 52-8 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point James Lick was down 30-5.
