Scottsbluff had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hastings Tigers a 42-0 shutout. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Tigers are ranked 91st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Scottsbluff's record is now 6-1. As for Hastings, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Scottsbluff is set to face off against their familiar foe McCook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hastings will challenge rival Lexington on Friday.
