Softball Recap: Decatur Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Decatur dropped to 17-3 on Thursday, ending the team's ten-game streak of wins at home. They lost 10-2 to the Pace Academy Knights. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Pace Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

For Pace Academy's part, Megan Wrigley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Wrigley has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Wrigley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Bodhi Venturi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

As of now, neither Decatur nor Pace Academy have any future games scheduled.
