Basketball Recap: Fresno Takes a Loss

If Fresno was feeling good fresh off their 63-26 takedown of Washington Union last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fresno Warriors had to suffer through a 58-14 loss at the hands of the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers. The Warriors have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

San Joaquin Memorial's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teyanna Burelll, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points in addition to six boards and five steals. That's the most steals Burelll has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Amieya Walters, who earned eight points along with ten rebounds and five steals.

Fresno's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Fresno wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-22 defeat against Bullard on the 6th. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they have also already played their next game, a 48-35 victory against Roosevelt on the 6th.
