Recap: Kiski Area Cavaliers vs. Penn-Trafford Warriors
The Kiski Area Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 50-38 to Penn-Trafford. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kiski Area in their matchups with Penn-Trafford: they've now lost six in a row.
It was another big night for Lauren Marton, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds for Penn-Trafford. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Olivia Pepple, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Kiski Area's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Penn-Trafford, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kiski Area and Gateway will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. After both having extra time off, Penn-Trafford and Thomas Jefferson will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Thomas Jefferson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Penn-Trafford is ranked 90th).
