Baseball Game Preview: Southwest DeKalb Panthers vs. Druid Hills Red Devils

For the second straight game, Southwest DeKalb will face off against Druid Hills. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Southwest DeKalb came up short against Druid Hills and fell 9-5. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Red Devils: they've now lost three in a row.

For Druid Hills' part, Oliver Myers tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave Myers a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Noah Brocklebank was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Parker, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Druid Hills' win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Southwest DeKalb, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.
