Softball Preview: Worth County Rams vs. Cook Hornets
Worth County hasn't had much luck against Cook recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rams will challenge the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Worth County was handed a 16-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Crisp County 5-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Laurie Pritchard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on one hit and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Sher'Miah Donaldson was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Cook made sure to put some runs up on the board against Berrien on Wednesday. The Hornets blew past the Rebels 13-5. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won 15 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Worth County's record now sits at 10-17. As for Cook, their record is now 19-3.
