Softball Recap: Aurora Find Success

Aurora won the last time they faced York and things went their way on Thursday too. The Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dukes, sneaking past 3-2.

Josie Fink spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aurora's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Londyn Teahon, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Another was Vivi Fahrnbruch, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Aurora now has a winning record of 4-3. As for York, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Coming up, Aurora will be playing in front of their home fans against Cozad at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Haymakers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for York, they will take on Centennial at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Dukes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
