Basketball Recap: Izzy Walter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Midd-West over East Juniata

Midd-West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell to the East Juniata Tigers 40-35. The match was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but the Mustangs couldn't quite close it out.

Midd-West's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izzy Walter, who posted 11 points and seven boards. That's the most points Walter has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Lauren Nesbit, who earned six points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.

Midd-West's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for East Juniata, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Midd-West will head out to face off against Halifax at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Juniata, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the East Juniata Tigers take on the Greenwood Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on December 19th.
