Montgomery falls despite strong effort from Falin Reynolds

Recap: Montgomery Red Raiders vs. South Williamsport Mountaineers

The Montgomery Red Raiders struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Wednesday (the South Williamsport Mountaineers were 25% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Montgomery was dealt a 52-24 loss at the hands of South Williamsport. Montgomery has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Montgomery still got an impressive performance from Falin Reynolds, who scored 12 points along with six steals. Reynolds scored a full 50% of Montgomery's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

South Williamsport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abby Akers, who scored 22 points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ella Moore, who scored 16 points.

Montgomery now has a losing record at 2-3. As for South Williamsport, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery will be home for the holidays to greet Neumann Regional Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Neumann Regional Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Thursday. As for South Williamsport, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Bucktail at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Bucktail is ranked 415th, while South Williamsport is ranked 438th).
