Recap: Williams Valley Vikings vs. Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes
It was a good run, but the Williams Valley Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 41-22 fall against Schuylkill Haven. Williams Valley lost against Schuylkill Haven in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 35-20 score last time.
Schuylkill Haven got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mckenna Runkle out in front who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Dress, who scored eight points.
Williams Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5. As for Schuylkill Haven, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williams Valley will take on Nativity BVM at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nativity BVM will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 580th, while Williams Valley is ranked 256th). As for Schuylkill Haven, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Shenandoah Valley at 7:30 p.m.
