Softball Recap: Frederick Finds Home Field Redemption Against Fairview

There's no place like home for Frederick, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Fairview Knights on Thursday as they made off with a 14-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Eagles considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Elayna Fisher made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Fisher was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lyla Kuhn, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Eva Purnell, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Frederick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9 runs. As for Fairview, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-9.

Coming up, Frederick will take on Broomfield at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Fairview, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 victory against Wheat Ridge on the 20th.
