Softball Recap: Grandview Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Grandview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Grand Junction Central Warriors on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-8 two weeks ago.

Christi Birx looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Grandview got a massive performance out of Madison Jaramillo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Jaramillo a new career-high. Sasha Kennedy was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Grandview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Grandview's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Grand Junction Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Grandview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-4 victory against Ponderosa on the 5th. As for Grand Junction Central, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-1 defeat against Holy Family on the 5th.
