Soccer Game Preview: Armuchee vs. Model

The Armuchee Indians will square off against the Model Blue Devils on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Armuchee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Toombs County 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Armuchee were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Model got the win against Rabun County on Tuesday by a conclusive 5-1. Considering Model have won 12 games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Armuchee's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those nine matches. As for Model, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.

Armuchee skirted past Model 2-1 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
