Softball Recap: Ponderosa Comes Up Short

If Ponderosa was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Regis Jesuit last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Rock Canyon Jaguars on Monday, falling 8-2. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Ponderosa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Campbell Trombley, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Ponderosa's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Rock Canyon, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Ponderosa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against ThunderRidge on the 19th. As for Rock Canyon, they have also already played their next matchup, an 8-5 victory against Chaparral on the 17th.
