Football Game Preview: Springfield Cosmos vs. Poultney Blue Devils

The Springfield Cosmos will face off against the Poultney Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Springfield nor Poultney posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Springfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Bellows Falls, who was ranked eighth at the time (Springfield was ranked 21st). The Cosmos were beaten by the Terriers 49-6 on Friday. The loss was the Cosmos' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Poultney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 14-6 to Milton.

Poultney's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Springfield, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Springfield won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, slipping by Poultney 21-20. Do the Cosmos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
