Football Recap: Harlem Skates Past Freeport with Ease + How To Watch

Harlem was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Freeport on Friday. The Huskies simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pretzels 59-14. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

La'Darrius Foster had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and one TD. Another rusher making a difference was Jai'Untae Jones-Williams, who rushed for 68 yards and one score on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Harlem was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Harlem's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 3.5 times. Noah Crandall refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Freeport's side was Brenyn Brickson, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles.

Despite the loss, Freeport still got an impressive performance from Denarius Epps, who rushed for 111 yards on only 13 carries.

Harlem's record now sits at 5-1. As for Freeport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Harlem will be playing at home against Rockford East at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies will be up against the E-Rabs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Freeport, they are taking a road trip to challenge Guilford at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Pretzels surely won't give up without a fight.
