Basketball Recap: Borden Takes a Loss

Borden lost to Charlestown back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Braves had to suffer through an 80-33 loss at the hands of the Pirates. The matchup marked the Braves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Keevin Bowman had another great game (as he tends to do), as he made all 9 shots he took racking up 21 points and four steals for Charlestown. Bowman is becoming a predictor of the Pirates' success: when he posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Anthony Fresh, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 16 points.

Borden's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Charlestown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Borden will head out to challenge Henryville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Charlestown, they will venture away from home to take on Eastern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
