Baseball Game Preview: Dougherty Trojans vs. Chattahoochee County Panthers

The Dougherty Trojans will face off against the Chattahoochee County Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

After dropping their season opener at home, Chattahoochee County is headed out to face a Trojans team ready to give their home crowd a win. Dougherty fell just short of Sumter County by a score of 9-8 on Wednesday. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Panthers since Wednesday.

Detavious Poole put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Poole was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Tray Carnegie made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Kingston Offord, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hardaway hit Chattahoochee County with a five-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers lost 13-3 to the Hawks. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost three in a row.

Chattahoochee County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khalib Fleming, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
