Basketball Recap: Petaluma Comes Up Short

Petaluma lost against Pinole Valley back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Petaluma Trojans had to suffer through a 57-23 loss at the hands of the Pinole Valley Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 799th, while the Spartans are ranked 225th).

This is the second loss in a row for Petaluma and nudges their season record down to 8-15. As for Pinole Valley, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Petaluma will welcome American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. American Canyon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season. As for Pinole Valley, they will be playing at home against Saint Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
