Basketball Recap: Kaiser Takes a Loss

Kaiser fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against San Gorgonio on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the San Gorgonio Spartans. The Cats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 37-33.

Leading San Gorgonio to victory were Star Ramos and Jazmin Benson. Ramos posted 18 points in addition to six boards and five assists, while Benson dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Benson has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Grace Sanders was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.

Kaiser has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for San Gorgonio, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17.

Kaiser does not have any more games scheduled as of now. San Gorgonio has already played their next contest (against Grand Terrace), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
