Softball Recap: Grand Junction Central Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fruita Monument, Grand Junction Central was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Heritage Eagles 8-7. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Sophie Aragon tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Grabau, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

Grand Junction Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season. As for Heritage, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Grand Junction Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-2 win against Castle View on the 26th. As for Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 defeat against Palisade on the 26th.
