Baseball Recap: Arcadia Apaches vs. Summit SkyHawks
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Arcadia can now relate to. They fell just short of the Summit SkyHawks by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Apaches were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the SkyHawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.
Peter Cuoco was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, Damian Catano was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Jordan Vogel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
Arcadia's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-11. As for Summit, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.
