Basketball Recap: Avalon Comes Up Short

Avalon lost against Pacifica Christian back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Avalon Lancers lost to the Pacifica Christian Tritons at home by a 45-26 margin. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vivian Villagrana continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pacifica Christian, going 6 for 10 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Villagrana has scored at least a third of Pacifica Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Caylie Villagrana, who posted six points and six assists.

Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Pacifica Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.

Avalon has already played their next matchup (against First Baptist), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pacifica Christian will head out on the road to square off against Fairmont Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairmont Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully Pacifica Christian likes a good challenge.
