Baseball Recap: Sandy Creek's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Sandy Creek hadn't done well against Fayette County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-13 on Tuesday.

Grant Housley was a standout: he fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Sandy Creek: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-19-1 otherwise. Cameron Layfield was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and two runs.

Sandy Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

Sandy Creek's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-19-1. As for Fayette County, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-23.
