Football Recap: Portsmouth West Drops Highest Score of Season Against Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Portsmouth West). They blew past the Valley Indians 44-20 on Friday. The score was close at halftime, but the Senators pulled away in the second half with 32 points.

Portsmouth West got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Bishop out in front who rushed for 139 yards and three TDs. Bishop's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 137 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Adkins, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The win was the third in a row for Portsmouth West, bringing their record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.7 points over those games. As for Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Portsmouth West will challenge Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Valley, they will square off against Oak Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Oaks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
