Preview: Covenant Christian Academy vs. New Covenant Christian Flames
After two games on the road, Covenant Christian Academy is heading back home. They will take on the New Covenant Christian Flames at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Covenant Christian Academy came up short against Juniata Christian and fell 41-32.
Meanwhile, New Covenant Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 40-35 to Mount Calvary Christian.
Despite the loss, New Covenant Christian saw an underclassman step up: Qynne Demler scored 22 points. That was a full 62.9% of New Covenant Christian's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Covenant Christian Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for New Covenant Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Covenant Christian Academy won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup on January 9th, slipping by New Covenant Christian 50-49.
