Westlake has gone a perfect 3-0 against Dripping Springs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Chaparrals will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Westlake will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up ten points last Friday, then bounced right back against Del Valle on Friday. The Chaparrals took their contest with ease, bagging a 71-7 victory over the Cardinals. The Chaparrals haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Westlake's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braden Riddell, who rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 40 receiving yards and one score. Another signal caller making a difference was Rees Wise, who threw for 166 yards and three TDs while completing 93.8% of his passes.

Westlake didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Del Valle to a completion percentage of just 40.7%. The team can thank Thompson Bennett for the heroic effort on defense: he. Westlake wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 95.2%.

Meanwhile, Dripping Springs got themselves on the board against Del Valle last Friday, but Del Valle never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cardinals 63-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their seven-point performance the game before.

Dripping Springs' win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Westlake, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
