Basketball Recap: Bernstein Takes a Loss

Bernstein saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a blow against the San Pedro Pirates, falling 49-19. The game marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Bernstein saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Daniela Salazar posted 12 points.

Naomi Eneiko was nothing short of spectacular for San Pedro: she earned 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Adrid, who put up 11 points.

Bernstein has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for San Pedro, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bernstein will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Belmont at 4:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. San Pedro also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Rancho Dominguez at 4:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
