Football Recap: Sparrows Point Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sparrows Point can now relate to. They were dealt a 42-13 loss at the hands of the Lackey Chargers on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Pointers, who until this contest were averaging 10.18 points allowed.

Sparrows Point's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Chase Carnahan, who gained 77 total yards, and Mikey Maynor, who gained 126 total yards. Paxton Clark also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards.

Lackey had a senior duo take command as Ronald Johnson rushed for 122 yards and one score on only 11 carries and Jayden Miles rushed for 124 yards and one TD while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Those 122 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Johnson.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sparrows Point fell to 10-1. As for Lackey, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

Sparrows Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lackey, they have already played their next matchup, a 20-6 win against Liberty on the 28th.
