Basketball Recap: Camarillo Scorpions vs. Royal Highlanders
The Camarillo Scorpions stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Royal, posting a 77-18 win at home. Winning may never get old, but Camarillo sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Camarillo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christa Contreras, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Contreras is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Martin, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Camarillo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Royal, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camarillo will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Park will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak. As for Royal, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m.
