Winslow extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 7-12. They came up short against the Round Valley Elks, falling 13-5. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 22-4 to the Elks when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Winslow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jewel Ben, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Ben's first of the season.
As for Round Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Round Valley, who have now won 15 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
On Round Valley's side, Ryan Jaramillo made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Jaramillo has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kelci Walker and Taizly Newman did most of the damage at the plate: Walker went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Newman went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Walker has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ruth Wiltbank, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Winslow didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-3 win against Holbrook on the 17th. As for Round Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Many Farms on the 15th.
