Soccer Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-2 to the Champaign Central Maroons. Monticello were not able to make up for their defeat to Champaign Central from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 5-12-1. As for Champaign Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Monticello will take on Pleasant Plains at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Champaign Central, they will face off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
