Softball Game Preview: Jenkins County War Eagles vs. Screven County Gamecocks

Jenkins County hasn't had much luck against Screven County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The War Eagles will challenge the Gamecocks at 5:30 p.m. Screven County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jenkins County, who comes in off a win.

Jenkins County took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Edmund Burke Academy.

Evans hit Screven County with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Gamecocks wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Jenkins County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Screven County, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Jenkins County couldn't quite get it done against Screven County in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the War Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
