Baseball Recap: Cisne Comes Up Short

Cisne extended their losing streak to 15 on Monday, dropping them down to 1-16. They came up short against the Woodlawn Cardinals, falling 11-1. If the Runnin' Lions were looking for revenge after losing 10-5 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cisne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hagen Howard, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

As for Woodlawn, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-13 record. That looming 11-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

On Woodlawn's side, Kylan Moser made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Moser a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Woodlawn let Gianni Cheatham and JW Morgan run wild. Cheatham got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Morgan got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Morgan has posted since back in May of 2025. Gage Jones was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Coming up, Cisne will be playing in front of their home fans against Odin/Patoka/Sandoval at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodlawn, they are taking a road trip to challenge Neoga at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
