Baseball Recap: Riverdale Triumphs

On Thursday, Riverdale beat Mays 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Riverdale.

Zyaire Miller was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off nine hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Riverdale's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Mays, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Riverdale has already played their next contest, a 10-6 defeat against Luella on the 12th. As for Mays, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-7 loss against Jonesboro on the 8th.
