Softball Recap: North Platte Comes Up Short

If North Platte was riding high fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Adams Central on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Platte took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gering on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to North Platte of the 14-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

North Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Gering, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, North Platte is taking a road trip to face off against Kearney on Monday. The matchup will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Gering, they have already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Crete on the 22nd.
