Basketball Recap: West Mifflin Comes Up Short

West Mifflin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Belle Vernon Leopards. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Leopards apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

West Mifflin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Belle Vernon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

West Mifflin and Belle Vernon could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. West Mifflin will take on Penn-Trafford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday down 404 places (414 vs. 10). Similarly, Belle Vernon (ranked 335th) will meet South Park (ranked 114th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
