Preview: CORE Butte Lynx vs. Hamilton Braves
After two games on the road, CORE Butte is heading back home. They will take on the Hamilton Braves at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
CORE Butte only won by two when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 34-point they dealt Williams on Friday. CORE Butte blew past Williams 50-16 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory CORE Butte has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Hamilton put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-21 victory over Los Molinos. The win was familiar territory for Hamilton who now have five in a row.
Natalie Castillo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hanne Porter, who scored 11 points.
CORE Butte has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Hamilton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.
CORE Butte suffered a grim 47-21 defeat to Hamilton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can CORE Butte avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
