Baseball Recap: Valdosta Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Valdosta's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lowndes Vikings on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost nine in a row.

Valdosta's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Lowndes, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valdosta will host Fitzgerald at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Purple Hurricane's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lowndes, they will take on Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
