Baseball Recap: Independence/Gilmanton Comes Up Short

Independence/Gilmanton extended their losing streak to 11 on Friday, dropping them down to 1-14. They lost 19-1 to the Eleva-Strum Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on Tuesday.

As for Eleva-Strum, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.

For Eleva-Strum's part, Michael Lahn was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Lahn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Graeden Zwiefelhofer, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Independence/Gilmanton will host Augusta at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Eleva-Strum has already played their next game (against Independence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
