Football Recap: Nicolet Comes Up Short

Nicolet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Slinger Owls. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Owls are ranked 27th).

Nicolet now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Slinger, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coming up, Nicolet will be playing at home against West Bend West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 11.6 points per game this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Slinger, they will take on Whitefish Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
