Recap: Central Dauphin East Panthers vs. Cumberland Valley Eagles
Even though the Central Dauphin East Panthers have not done well against the Cumberland Valley Eagles recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Central Dauphin East was the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over Cumberland Valley. This was payback for Central Dauphin East, who suffered a 59-23 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Cumberland Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greta Dwyer, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sienna Manns, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Central Dauphin East's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0. As for Cumberland Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Central Dauphin East will be home for the holidays to greet Altoona at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cumberland Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Carlisle at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
