Basketball Game Preview: Campbell Hall Vikings vs. Calabasas Coyotes

The Campbell Hall Vikings will head out to take on the Calabasas Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Campbell Hall has three straight wins, Calabasas has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

While Campbell Hall didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They enjoyed a cozy 47-31 victory over Shalhevet on Thursday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Firehawks are ranked 674th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Charlotte Crosley and Romy D'Addario were among the main playmakers for Campbell Hall as the former went 8 of 12 en route to 19 points and four steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave D'Addario a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Charlotte Weinberger, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Campbell Hall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Calabasas lost to Moorpark at home by a 59-45 margin on Tuesday.

Campbell Hall's record now sits at 6-2. As for Calabasas, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Campbell Hall came up short against Calabasas when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 56-52. Can Campbell Hall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
