Preview: South El Monte Eagles vs. Rosemead Panthers
South El Monte is 0-10 against Rosemead since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South El Monte Eagles on the road again and play against the Rosemead Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th.
South El Monte suffered their biggest loss since December 6, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by Marshall 55-10. While losing is never fun, South El Monte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1030th, while Marshall is ranked 369th).
Meanwhile, Rosemead scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by El Monte at home to the tune of 56-13. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rosemead.
South El Monte's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Rosemead, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-12.
South El Monte came up short against Rosemead in their previous meeting on January 8th, falling 28-15. Can South El Monte avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
