With a playoff win on the line, Sage Hill rose to the challenge on Saturday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Sage Hill Lightning who were credited with the victory. The Sage Hill Lightning got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the La Mirada Matadores's three. The win was familiar territory for the Lightning, who have now won five games in a row.

Sage Hill's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for La Mirada, they moved to 13-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
