Baseball Recap: Chattahoochee Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Lanier last Wednesday, Chattahoochee came back down to earth. The Chattahoochee Cougars fell 7-3 to the Lanier Longhorns on Friday. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Longhorns earlier this season, when they won 13-1.

Chattahoochee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zyairre Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Jackson a new career-high.

Chattahoochee's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lanier, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Chattahoochee Cougars face off against Seckinger Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Seckinger is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Lanier, they will host Johns Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Johns Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Lanier's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
