The McDonough Warhawks will face off against the Stockbridge Tigers at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While McDonough's victory against Eagle's Landing wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. McDonough came out on top in a nail-biter against Eagle's Landing on Friday, sneaking past 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warhawks have posted since March 29, 2024.

McDonough's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Lee, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Lee is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Macanatty Woodside was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Eagle's Landing Christian Academy 7-6.
Brycen Norman-Jimil made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Norman-Jimil was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Casey McBride, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kyle Tucker, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
McDonough now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Stockbridge, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. McDonough has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Stockbridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
McDonough suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Stockbridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can McDonough avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
