Baseball Recap: Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers vs. Brentwood War Eagles

Central Fellowship Christian Academy extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-17 in the process. They lost 14-4 to the Brentwood War Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the War Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 on Tuesday.

Evan Fries made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

As for Brentwood, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

On Brentwood's side, Abe Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Williams has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Brentwood is 6-1 when Williams posts two or more runs, but 2-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, JW Hitchcock was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Nathan Diaz also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Central Fellowship Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 12-1 victory against Windsor Academy on the 21st. As for Brentwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-3 win against Westminster Christian Academy on the 22nd.
